Releasing retention

Half at completion, the rest after the defects period.

Steps

  1. On the contract, record Practical completion with its date.
  2. Click Release retention with 50% and certify it - half the retention is billed.
  3. When the defects period ends, release the rest (100% of what is still held) and certify it; then Close contract.

Good to know

  • Retention is tracked on the contract: invoices carry only what is due.
