Why was my text or file refused?

Navigate refuses spreadsheet formulas and program files everywhere.

Steps

  1. A field that starts like a spreadsheet formula - =, +cmd|, @SUM( or -HYPERLINK( - is refused: type plain text. Phone numbers (+254…) and negative amounts (-1,500) are fine.
  2. Uploads may not be programs, scripts, web pages, SVG images or Office files with macros - even renamed (invoice.php.pdf). Attach a PDF, a picture, or a Word / Excel / CSV file without macros.
  3. Imported sheets (CSV / Excel) with formulas are refused, with the rows named: paste the values instead of the formulas.

Good to know

  • Numbers are limited to 999,999,999,999.99 unless the field says otherwise.
  • Every CSV export marks formula-looking cells as text, so they never run when opened in Excel.
