Hide cost and margin, keep financial statements to the right people, lock prices, tax and exchange rates, and control period close.
Steps
Go to Settings > Access matrix, choose a role (or By user for one person) and scroll to Financial controls.
Each control shows its default. Set Deny to take it away, or Allow to give it: View cost, View margin & gross profit, View financial statements, Change selling price, Change tax on a line, Change exchange rates, Sell below minimum margin without approval, Issue to production beyond the tolerance, Sell or issue without stock, View stock in other branches, Close and reopen periods.
Add a reason and Save - it applies straight away; no area needs to be enforced.
Good to know
Without View cost, cost figures show as โขโขโข and cost-based screens (Pricing, Costing, stock valuation) are closed; saving a product keeps its cost.
Without Change selling price, a sales line must carry its price-list price (the price box is read-only).
Most controls are Allowed by default - including View financial statements - so nothing changes until you set one. Sell below minimum, Issue to production beyond the tolerance and Sell or issue without stock are Not allowed by default.
Sell below minimum is off by default: such invoices go for approval unless the person has it.
The owner always has every control.
